Oakley Adapts Forbidden Brides...
NEIL GAIMAN’s Forbidden Brides of the Faceless Slaves in the Secret House of the Night of Dread Desire, a prose story originally featured in the collection Fragile Things, Forbidden Brides has been adapted by Shane Oakley.
THE ADAPTATION will be published as hard cover graphic novel by Dark Horse in the USA in January 2017.
It is said to: “Tell the story of a writer struggling to compose non-fiction on a dark, stormy night. Wishing to create serious stories about frail women in white nightgowns, mysterious bumps in the night, and the undead rising to collect old debts, the author is unsuccessful because of his tendency to insert comedy into his dark tales. Talking ravens, family disagreements, and interruptions from his creepy butler further hinder his literary efforts.”
As a work of modern gothic literature Oakley is ideally suited as an artist and sequential storyteller to adapt the body of Gaiman’s work. Indeed, the work has been a long time in production, not that the artist himself has been idle as he is also known to be working on a horror project with Nexus creator Mike Baron.
Comic fans may look forward to scary times ahead!
