After a short recap, followed by allies verbally giving our hero up for good (albeit unconvincingly so there’s probably another twist coming along in another volume), it pretty much gets to be a game of hare and hounds as XIII gets hunted by hitmen wanting to join cover girl Irian Svetlanova’s team of international assassins.

It’s fast and it’s furious, like a more mature James Bond film directed and written by Hitchcock. It’s also incredibly easy on the eye with a series of femme fatales pivotal to the plot.
