The Bluecoats Book 7 – The Blues in the Mud
The Bluecoats Book 7 – The Blues in the Mud, by Raoul Cauvin & Willy Lambil, Cinebook

OUT ON patrol, the Bluecoats chance upon a female bathing all alone, their heads are turned already so when she puts on the uniform of the Union and relates how she is doing so for family honour: her brother having deserted and she wanting to take his place, you can begin to list the probable calamities that will soon ensue.
Chesterfield agrees to help her, for as Blutch reminds him he’s been prone to falling head over heels for a woman’s pleas before. Ironically then, it’s that would be deserter Blutch whose tips she follows: like pretending you’ve been shot and falling off your horse instead of charging all the way with the cavalry and actually ending up dead! But the lady’s one for turning, in fact she’s never been loyal to the North but is a civil Mata Hari for the Rebels. However Chesterfield has to have proof of this himself, and its given several times, by Blutch.
Gentle humour, with some pathos and slapstick aplenty.
