Yoko Tsuno Book 8 – The Devil’s Organ
Yoko Tsuno Book 8 – The Devil’s Organ, by Roger Leloup, Cinebook
A GIRL falls overboard on a boat travelling down the Rhine, and Yoko Tsuno dives in to save her. It seems she had not only been drugged, but pushed in. The fact that her father’s dead body was found on the mainland only a week ago means there’s a mystery afoot that Yoko and her friends must unravel.
A musical instrument invented during the Renaissance that drove listeners mad is thought to have been replicated, and that’s what lead to the man’s death, cue Scooby Doo style adventure but without the silliness and less obvious twists, more personality and indeed action, some basic but solid scientific principles to make it all work, a nice medieval castle and scenic backgrounds to add to the visual attraction, and eventually the mystery solved by the wit and good temper of Yoko herself.
A strong adventure story for kids.
