Yoko Tsuno Book 6 – The Morning of the World

Yoko Tsuno Book 6 – The Morning of the World, by Roger Leloup, Cinebook

YOKO AND her friends fly to Bali to meet up with her cousin Monya, and much confusion ensues as a presumably peace-loving hippy getting-back-to-nature type called Mike burns down their thatched hut, forcing the team have to travel back in time to escape!

Continuity fans will know this all makes sense, the rest of us will accept it obligingly or turn to the back of the book where covers from previous volumes reveal the second in the series was titled The Time Spiral and then return to the story.

We get stolen statues, young girls as potential sacrifices for prehistoric pteradons (their dubious existence explained in a future time-travelling volume perhaps), a volcano that is about to explode, and some adventure thrown in for good measure.

As an adult I keep asking more questions than is necessary when this is the equivalent of a Saturday morning adventure cartoon with some added characterisation and continuity thrown in.
