Birmingham’s Comic, Film & Card Fair Back This April!
THE WEST Midlands has been the home to some of the finest comic book creators in the world, with many of today’s stars still living in the area. That’s one of the reasons comic book connoisseurs will be heading off to Five Ways on Saturday 16th April where they will be gathering at Ladywood Social Club to seek out rare memorabilia of yesteryear by those fine artists and many more like them at the Birmingham Comic, Film & Card Fair on what will be another great day out as part of this year’s Birmingham Comic Festival.
Attracting not only the hardened collector but casual browsers too: it’s the very fact that the dealers manning these stands are collectors themselves, with years of experience, knowledge and most importantly enthusiasm that keeps people coming back for more and helps put those newly interested in collecting at ease.
With thousands of film and comic related material both old and new; trading cards, toys, TV/film magazines, posters, books, graphic novels, games and all kinds of sci-fi/fantasy material there’s literally something for everyone at the Birmingham Comic, Film & Card Fair.
So, whether you’re looking to fill missing issues in your collection of Midlands pencil & ink collaborators like John McCrea and James Hodgkins or Mike Collins and Mark Farmer, discover Charles Griggs’ cover work on The Dandy’s annuals, Coin Whittock and Pokettez’ work in Punch magazine, Mike Higgs’ strips in Pow! or are even considering buying original art featuring The Spider as drawn by Reg Bunn in the 60s, get yourself along to the Birmingham Comic, Film & Card Fair where you might espy the work of those local heroes and a lot more than you bargained for besides!
The Birmingham Comic, Film & Card Fair opens its doors from midday to invite you in as part of this year’s Birmingham Comics Festival events being celebrated throughout the UK’s second city on Saturday 16th April. There is car parking to the rear and the bar open all day for those partaking of transport by other means!
