Mike Carey Signing - Waterstones Birmingham, England!

NEW YORK Times bestselling graphic novelist Mike Carey - otherwise known to the wider literary world as M.R. Carey - will be appearing in store at Waterstones on Saturday 9th April for an exclusive signing of his latest novel Fellside in conjunction with this year’s Birmingham Comics Festival.

Debuting with the British Fantasy Society nominated The Devil You Know, Carey’s novels have all been critically well-received. Most notably The Girl With All The Gifts for which he himself wrote the screenplay to its forthcoming movie adaptation as She Who Brings Gifts starring Glen Close, Gemma Arteton and Paddy Considine; that was actually filmed in Birmingham, Dudley and other parts of the West Midlands.

Carey’s work in the comic book field has appeared in Britain’s 2000AD, while for Marvel he has written flagship superhero titles including The Fantastic Four and The X-Men, and for DC Comics’ horror/fantasy imprint Vertigo he has penned Hellblazer and the Eisner Award nominated Lucifer series. Collections of which you’re likely to find in Waterstones’ extensive graphic novel department.

Fellside has been described as a thriller set in a maximum security prison on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors. A place where even the walls whisper. Those wanting to know what they say should get themselves along to the newly refurbished Waterstones in Birmingham’s city centre where they can meet Carey himself as he signs copies of the book.
