Lucky Luke Back in 1957
Lucky Luke Book 32: Rails on the Prairie, by Rene Goscinny & Morris, Cinebook
CINEBOOK' ENGLISH edition of Lucky Luke Book 1 gave us a modern story of the character whereas this collection takes us back to 1957 and an English translation of the ninth book chronologically in the series.

The front cover echoes both Disney’s Pinocchio and Dumbo in art style and certain themes, and the interiors feature a looser less established look for the lead character, one who is even referred to as Mr Luke early on, so obviously not as well known a character even in his own fictional world at this stage.
Nor are the running gags of the series set in stone at this stage, leading to a nice gentle unpredictability about this, though we know Luke’s going to help get the railroad built across the prairie by the time we reach the last page.
More a historic collection than a must-have.
